District 1 Meeting
Mar 17 @ 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Body Language Interpretation: A guide to understanding the people around us.

GBI Region 12 ASAC Josh Alford will be presenting an informational class that will be tailored to us as police administrators. The purpose of this class is to help us understand how our officers and the public are receiving the information we are giving to them. This will also help to read people and better understand the information that they are giving you. This will be helpful in a wide range of our duties as administrators from interviewing candidates for hire to internal investigations.

The meeting and lunch will be held at Southern Star Grill
Southern Star offers 2 options as a blue plate special every day as well as a full menu. As long as you choose one of the blue plate options the cost of the meal will be taken care of. If you choose a menu item you will be responsible for the cost.

Southern Star is located at 153 East Oak Street, McRae-Helena Georgia, 31055

If you do not want to include this in the email it’s fine but we would love to have anyone that wants to observe stop by. It is only a few minute drive from the school to the restaurant.

On the morning of the meeting from 9:00 until 12:00 we will be participating in our annual MOURNing After program at the Telfair County High School if anyone would like to come and observe what we do. This program will have several activities that our students will have to preform from driving a golf cart while wearing vision impairing goggles to doing simple task such as walk and turn while wearing the same goggles. Also we will have the Roll-Over Simulator on hand that day for any one that would like to see how it works and possibly schedule it for an event in their jurisdiction. The school address is 458 South 3rd Avenue, McRae-Helena Ga, 31055

District 9 Meeting @ Lilburn PD
May 20 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Lilburn Police Department is proud to announce we intend on hosting the 9th District meeting on May 20th! Precision Planning of Lawrenceville has graciously agreed to sponsor our Chick-fil-A breakfast so please arrive as early as 9:00 am to enjoy food and fellowship with your friends.

Our address is 4600 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lilburn.  We are centrally located on Lawrenceville Hwy between Indian Trail Road and Beaver Ruin Road. Training will commence at 10:00 am.  We plan to have an interactive group discussion on COVID-19, life before, during, and into the future. Lilburn PD Captain Scott Bennett will facilitate the training.

Because of established CDC social distancing guidelines, we have the capacity to safely seat just 40 people and each attendee must bring and wear a mask. Unfortunately, the training is now at full capacity.  If you have not already responded that you intend to be present in the meeting, unfortunately you will not be able to do so.  With that said, we will live stream the meeting and provide executive training hours for those of you that are unable to attend in person.

In addition to the training that will be provided, we will honor Retired Georgia Department of Public Safety Director Mark McDonough by presenting him with his life membership to the GACP and recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the citizens of the state of Georgia.  We may also have a very special guest in attendance, if scheduling allows, so you don’t want to miss this meeting.
