District 9 Meeting @ The Fair Street Neighborhood Center

Due to the overwhelming response for attendance at the District Nine meeting on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, the location of the meeting has been changed.  The new meeting location is The Fair Street Neighborhood Center located at 715 Fair Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30501.  Breakfast will begin at 9:00 am with training immediately following.  If you have not done so, please RSVP to Chief Parrish at JParrish@gainesvillega.gov so he can get an accurate headcount for the meal.

On Wednesday, September 22nd the 8th District Chiefs Training will be held at the Carrollton Police Department from 11-1. The topic is Human Trafficking and VICAP regulations. The guest speaker will be Amy Hutsell. Amy is the Program Director for the Sexual Assault, Child Abuse and Human Trafficking Unit with Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Resiliency Training @ LaGrange Police Department Training Center

The Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (POST) is implementing an Officer Resiliency Program designed to provide officers with the life skills and abilities to overcome adversity, manage stress, and thrive in their personal and private lives. A Train-the-Trainer course for General Certified Instructors is being offered by the LaGrange Police Department.

There is no-cost to attend this training. Please have your personnel register as soon as possible.

This training has been approved for 20 executive hours. Note, this training is intended for individuals who are expected to commit to being a part of this important program and mission. Please do not sign up for this course merely to satisfy executive hour requirements.

Friday, October 8m 2021 – Class begins at 8:00 am, ends at 1:00 pm

LODGING VENUE:

This training requires overnight lodging and is funded by the Resiliency Training Program Grant Fund. Participants are asked to arrive the day before the training begins on October 5th and will depart on the afternoon of the 8th once the training is complete. Participants will be provided lodging information after registration for the class has been completed.

Please sign up with Sgt. Clower, LaGrange Police Department by September 30th, as class sizes are limited to 20 participants per class.

District 9 Meeting @ Monroe Police Department

The City of Monroe Police Department is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the October District Nine meeting at their new facility located at 140 Blaine Street, Monroe, Georgia. We are located off of East Spring Street behind the Popeyes Chicken. The meeting will be Wednesday October 20th at 0900hrs. Breakfast and drinks will be ready to serve by 0830.  Captain Mike Lindstrom with the Sandy Springs Police Department will come and speak on two completely separate topics. One is in regards to Law Enforcement recruiting and retention and the other is about FBI VICAP.
