President’s Message – July 2025
Anita Allen
GACP President
Chief, Albany State University Police Department
Since taking on this role, I have appreciated what it takes to operate and maintain this organization’s excellence. I want to recognize the excellent GACP staff for their hard work and dedication in coordinating our conferences and training sessions. Their commitment ensures that we receive the highest level of professional service and training, empowering us to excel in our duties.
I’d also like to acknowledge the past presidents who have paved the way for leaders like me. Their dedication and vision have been instrumental in shaping our path forward.
I am eager to continue supporting the initiatives laid out by the previous administration, including the ongoing support of the Child Lethality Ad Hoc Committee, enhancements to our 911 centers, comprehensive training for new Chiefs, and the exciting new building project.
Additionally, we will emphasize our continued participation at the district level while enhancing our legislative effectiveness. I am eager to explore ways to collaborate to support safety initiatives and partnerships with college and university campuses. To further advance our narrative of GACP, leveraging social media will play a crucial role in connecting the association with our community through engaging commercials and Public Service Announcements (PSAs) featuring board members and Chiefs from across Georgia.
The GACP is an exceptional organization that strives for excellence throughout our great state and is recognized as a beacon of best practices. I encourage all agency heads to embrace transparency and to educate all levels of your police staff on the importance of GACP for our future and the next generation.
Together, we can accomplish remarkable things and foster a stronger, safer, high-performing environment for everyone.
Thank you for your trust and support. I look forward to working alongside you to make a positive impact.
