President’s Message
Scott Gray
GACP President
Chief, Fayetteville Police Department
Greetings to all the membership,
Fellow GACP Members,
I would like to start out by saying THANK YOU to the Association, Executive Board, and all the members who sent condolences to our family upon our mother’s passing. My brother wanted me to thank everyone and to tell you that he didn’t realize how close of a community that law enforcement really is. As he left to head back home to Colorado, my brother asked me to send him the emails so that he could save them. So again, thank you from the Gray family.
As we embark on the start of 2025, the Association will start renovations of our newly purchased building. We are all excited to see where the project goes and look forward to the opening sometime later in 2025. We are continuing to move forward on planning the legislative day at the capital and need as many members to show up to help us achieve some legislative goals. As a reminder, if you have not yet registered for the Spring Training Conference, please take some time and register soon, since the hotel rooms will begin to fill up.
As we turn the page on 2024, I would like to thank all the staff, committee members, and volunteers for a great year. We have moved the needle on many projects, and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish in 2025. I recently had the opportunity to visit with District 7 at their year-end meeting. I enjoyed the training and the discussion about GACP direction. I would like to thank Sardis PD Chief Scotti Sanford and Grovetown PD Chief Jamey Kitchens for the invitation and look forward to visiting with as many districts as I can in 2025.
In closing, I am looking forward to a great year at the association. I am truly grateful for this experience and to work alongside the best in the business. Our entire Association is committed to making Georgia law enforcement better for the future.
