Executive Director’s Message- April 2025
A.A. Butch Ayers
GACP Executive Director

2025 is off to a fast start, with no signs of slowing down.
Our efforts to provide more quality training for our members are evident in the numbers. Chief’s School is now delivered in five sessions per year, with 30-35 students each. 198 students have attended or are registered to attend Chief’s School in FY 2025. This is a 69.2% increase over the previous year, and a 108.4% increase when compared to FY 2020. Conference attendance this year has increased 13.5% since FY 2020, and the number of students / attendees receiving training through Chief’s School and conferences has increased 30.8% since FY 2020.
We are excited about the 2025 Spring Training Conference that will be held on April 8-10, 2025, at the Gas South District Conference Center in Duluth. The training will cover 26 topics delivered in 44 different sessions over two and a half days. There is a variety of topics to choose from, and everyone should leave the conference with 14 hours of executive training credit. More than 400 attendees are registered, as well as 130 exhibitors.
The Annual Agency Data Collection Report deadline has been extended to March 31st. Please take the time to complete the survey.
The last day of the 2025 Legislative Session is April 4th. Bills that pass will be sent to Governor Kemp, who then has another 40 days to act. We will not know exactly what will become law until sometime in May.
I appreciate the support you have shown for GACP, the Executive Board, and our staff. They continue to work hard every day to make a difference.
