This is management administrative police work using community-oriented policing and problem oriented policing techniques in commanding the activities of the Criminal Investigation Division. Work involves responsibility management for the supervision of all criminal investigative related activities of the division. Work requires the use of seasoned judgment and specialized knowledge and skills in interpreting rules and orders and in leading employees, appraising the effectiveness of police techniques used, and interpreting departmental policies, with general orders being received from the Police Chief. Work is reviewed through observation of results obtained efficiency of operations, and evaluation of reports submitted.
