President’s Message – Winter 2026

Anita Allen

GACP President

Chief, Albany State University Police Department

Dear Members,

As we step into 2026, I am excited to welcome you to a year filled with new opportunities and positive momentum for GACP. It is with great pride that I announce the upcoming ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new GACP headquarters—a milestone we have all been eagerly anticipating.

This achievement stands as a testament to the vision and perseverance of past GACP presidents, whose commitment laid the groundwork for our continued growth. I am deeply grateful for their dedication and for the collective efforts that have shaped our organization into what it is today. We are truly building upon the strong foundation they created.

I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Chiefs across Georgia. Your leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence are making a real difference in our communities. Through your service, compassion, and professionalism, you embody the best of our profession. Remember, every act of leadership inspires those you guide and helps spark meaningful change.

Let us remain attentive to the mental and emotional well-being of our teams. As Proverbs 17:22 reminds us, “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Our new headquarters opens doors for continued growth, enhanced training, and expanded resources for both our members and our communities. I would like to commend Director Butch Ayers for his outstanding leadership throughout this project. His dedication—and that of his team—has been instrumental in making this vision a reality.

As we move into the year ahead, let us embrace all challenges and opportunities with optimism, unity, and a renewed commitment to our collective mission. Every step forward strengthens our organization and the communities we serve. I am inspired daily by your resilience and drive, and I am confident that together, we will achieve even greater things in 2026.

As your president, I am honored to lead GACP into this new chapter and look forward to advancing our mission together.

I hope to see you all at the upcoming winter conference in April.
